All US Servicemembers of Liberian descent who have been screened and verified as active, separated, or retired and in good standing with their respective service (Active Duty, Reserved or National Guard Component) are eligible for regular membership in LAVA.

 

Department of Defense (DoD) personnel of other ethnic descent who have recognized as a LAVA member are eligible for Associate membership in LAVA but may not hold a position on the executive council.

 

All family members of LAVA members are eligible as Associate Members and cannot be elected to any position in the organization.
